About Karina Jarvela MD
Dr. Karina Jarvela is an Oregon State Board Licensed Naturopathic Physician. She completed her 4-year Bachelor of Arts at the University of Texas Austin in Anthropology and Women’s Studies and her 4-year Medical Degree at the National University of Natural Medicine in Portland Oregon. She holds an Advanced Certification in Homeopathy through a 2-year course at the New England School of Homeopathy. It was through her Internship in Women’s Health and Hormone with Dr. Kimberlee Windstar that her passion for holistic treatment for women’s health issues was discovered.
With over a decade of experience treating women, she is an expert in holistic care for women’s health issues, with a passion for hormone health, particularly BHRT bioidentical hormone therapy for Peri and Post Menopause, as well as the treatment of Autoimmune Hashimoto’s Hypothyroidism.
As a childhood Brain cancer survivor, she was taught the importance of listening to a patient’s health story, allowing plenty of time for questions and education on all treatment options available, both conventional and alternative. You deserve to be heard!
She splits her time between the Yucatan region of Mexico and Portland, Oregon. She enjoys spending her free time with her 2 beautiful daughters and her husband, swimming in the warm Caribbean sea, hiking in the beautiful Pacific Northwest, and as a self-proclaimed Foodie eating her way through the incredible foods of Mexico and the Pacific Northwest.
Dr. Jarvela has a truly holistic practice, integrating both conventional and alternative treatments to best suit the needs of her patient, recognizing their unique health needs and lifestyles. She views health as a partnership. Dr. Jarvela believes in working together as a team to best optimize your health. She will meet you where you are at..if you are not ready to make major dietary changes..not a problem… she will discuss all your options..from herbs to medications…little by little… she will work with you to get you on the road to feeling great again. You deserve to feel great!
